In 2011, Frankie Orciuoli of Albany Marble referred us to a wonderful project, “The Fisher House” in Albany, NY. Amy and I felt it would be a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and support our military personnel. From our first meeting, we knew we wanted to be a part of this worthwhile project.
The Fisher house is a home designed for the families of military personnel who have an illness, disease or injury. It gives them a comforting place to be while a loved one is being treated. There are Fisher Houses across the United States, each located near military medical centers. The CCW team met with local granite fabricator, Albany Marble, general contractor, John Bethoney, and Habitat for Humanity at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. Gently used kitchen cabinetry, which was in extremely good condition, was donated to update the kitchen for the military families. After much coordination to not disrupt the families who reside in the home, we were able to install the cabinetry. Albany Marble also put together a new kitchen backsplash to create a focal point for the room. Checkout the finished results below:

Working on the Fisher House project left such a good feeling in our hearts. Also, it is always special to work alongside people who share their time to help others in need.
