Bathroom Faucets: Models

Bathroom faucets aren’t overly complicated. They’re a simple tool that hasn’t changed much over the years, but when replacing an existing faucet, it’s important to know which model is best for your sink.

For starters, if you’re only replacing the bathroom faucet without changing your sink, you’ll need to get a faucet that is compatible with the number of holes in the sink. If you’re remodeling and replacing the sink and faucet, your field of choices is wide open. However, the same principle regarding faucet and sink-hole compatibility applies. Checkout our tips below for a better understanding of bathroom faucet models:

Centerset Faucets

As one of the most common types of bath faucets, the centerset faucet is available in a wide selection of styles and finishes. Its design generally combines the handles and spout together on the base unit. This model works best in small bathrooms with small sinks and limited space.

Widespread Faucets

A widespread faucet allows for more room between the faucet handles and spout than a centerset faucet, typically 6″ apart. This model is distinguished by having separate hot and cold water handles that are independent of the spout. The widespread faucet is great for larger sink basins and can be the perfect choice for the master bathroom.

Single Hole Faucets

A single hole bathroom faucet is one that combines both the spout and the faucet handle. There are both single-lever and two-handle one-hole faucets. The faucet handles on the latter model are usually attached on either side of the faucet’s spout. As its name implies, this type of bathroom faucet requires only one plumbing access hole in the sink. You can even install single hole faucets with a pullout spout feature similar to kitchen faucets to help increase the reach. With less hardware, this faucet brings a streamlined and clean look to the bathroom sink.
